From the 3rd to the 4th October 2019, Train-ASD had its second transnational project meeting at the University of Bucharest in Romania. The meeting gathered 8 partners from Greece, Belgium, and Romania to look at the status of the project, and progress is going well with all partners contributing effectively.
At the meeting, partners looked at four elements of the project:
- The needs analysis: On the systematic observation and assessment of children to serve children's needs;
- The educational material: Development of Communication and Autism Spectrum Disorders
- The distance learning platform: The development of the Learning Management System (LMS) enables users to; register to the platform, attend courses, certify their knowledge, and obtain relevant certification;
- The e-learning applications: The development of the e-Learning applications in English is based on the educational material and have already been uploaded to the LMS platform.
Each online lesson contains: the educational material, photos, links and supportive material, a bibliography, the questionnaires, and a progress report. The online lessons are accessible from PC or mobile devices.
Lastly, partners spoke about the practical details of this project’s dissemination as well as the training promotion events.
Train-ASD’s promotion events will take place in Athens, Brussels, and Bucharest; with the main goal of generating awareness about results in order to advertise the forthcoming training activities and to reach as many people as possible.
After the meeting, partners went on a study visit to the Parliament of Romania (Palatul Parlamentului) to learn about the political situation in the country and also its recent history regarding autistic people and their families who live and work in Romania.
The next Train-ASD international meeting will take place in Brussels in 2020. The project foresees three meetings over its two-year lifespan.
